September 27 @ 10:00 – 16:00
On Saturday 27 September 2025, from 10am to 4pm, come along to the second instalment of the Facing the Storm series of climate conferences, titled Living in a Different Future. The conference will take place at Alive Church, Newland, Lincoln (LN1 1XG). It is organised by Faith & the Environment Lincolnshire, in partnership with the Diocese.
The day will be shaped by a keynote address from Dr Ruth Valerio, Programmes, Partnerships and Advocacy Director for Embrace the Middle East. Dr Valerio is well-known for her previous leadership with Tearfund and A Rocha. She will explore how faith groups can help build resilient communities in a world facing increasing environmental and social challenges.
Throughout the day, a panel of young speakers will share their perspectives on faith, climate action, and hope for the future. Attendees will take part in two practical workshop sessions. They will select from a range of interactive discussions and activities designed to inspire and equip communities.
Workshops will include Creating Community through Nature, which focuses on nature and community-based activities. Floods, Coasts and Communities offers insights into resilience for areas affected by flooding and coastal changes. Meanwhile, Community Conversations is a Climate Café style gathering that provides a safe, supportive environment. Here, people share thoughts and feelings about climate and community life.
This climate conference is an opportunity for people of all ages and faith backgrounds to come together. Attendees will learn from experts and young voices alike. Moreover, they will discover practical ways to live faithfully and resiliently in a changing world.
