Read the storyIt was a delightful day at Lincoln Cathedral on Saturday 11 October for lay ministers from across our diocese. We celebrated their tremendous contributions to sharing the love of Christ and proclaiming the Good News throughout the communities we serve.

Mark Hunkin, Charlie Bassett and Andy Wright were admitted and licensed as Readers by the Bishop of Grantham. They received a book of the New Testament and Psalms signed by Bishop Nicholas as a lasting gift of their newly licensed ministry.

It was an especially unique occasion thanks to the company of Bishop Teresia Boström from our link Diocese of Härnösand in Sweden, who joined us for this important recognition of all that lay ministers are and do.
As one of our link diocese, this was a display of our ongoing commitment to building up God’s Kingdom where we live, work and worship. We pray this was a heartening experience for the Bishop and our other esteemed guests from Sweden.
