Read the storyThe Ministry Experience Scheme is an exciting opportunity to dive into loads of different experiences which support the fantastic work happening in communities (not just in a church building!). It helps you discover God at work in others and in your own life.
There are all sorts of benefits to being part of it. The ministry experience scheme can boost your confidence. It can help direct your future path, create friendships and lasting connections. You’ll get a whole new outlook on life.
Applications are now officially open for 2025! Application forms are at the end of this page.

You’ll even get involved with a gentle introduction to the study of God, spirituality, and religion. This is done with St Hild College (Lincoln) and the Aurora Training Programme.
“The welcome received by the parishes and communities we have been living in has been brilliant. I often reflect on the feeling that I have ‘come back’ to Lincoln, despite never even visiting the city before the scheme.”
Become immersed in church life with the support of a priest and the backing of our Diocese. Plus, you’ll have somewhere to stay throughout the duration of your time on the scheme.
This gives you the time and space you need to have some well-earned quiet times while you’re out and about really making a difference to people’s lives through the experience.
We know it can be daunting to meet other students. However, this is a gentle way to meet people who share your faith and want to do so much more than just ‘learn’ from books.
Get experience with children’s work, helping at a foodbank, co-leading a Lent course, helping with a church’s social media, learning what priesthood is all about, joining in daily prayers and maybe even preaching on Sundays…and much more!

It’s really simple to register your interest. Email your completed application form (forms below) to our Young Vocations Champion, Coral Bell at youngvocations@lincoln.anglican.org or fill in the online application to apply for the Ministry Experience Scheme.
Please note that unfortunately we are not able to accept applications from overseas at this time. Appointment will be subject to enhanced DBS disclosure, which we’ll guide you through to make it as simple as possible.
We hope you are interested in joining this unique scheme which offers an unforgettable experience of what ministry is all about!
