As Holy Week begins, all are warmly invited to St Hugh’s Church in Scunthorpe (DN16 2AJ) for a special Come and Sing event. It features Sir John Stainer’s much‑loved work The Crucifixion. Singers of all abilities are welcome to join the afternoon rehearsal and take part in the evening performance.
The rehearsal begins at 2pm, followed by a free public performance at 6pm.
Those wishing to sing are encouraged to bring their own music copy if they have one. Copies can also be provided on request by emailing Revd Julia at juliaclark62@outlook.com.
The event will be conducted by Ruth Bruce, with Chris Taylor at the organ. There will be soloists drawn from talented local musicians. They are delighted to be supported by The Phoenix Chamber Choir.
Refreshments will be available during the rehearsal and after the performance.
This is a wonderful opportunity to enter Holy Week through music, worship, and fellowship. All are welcome, whether to sing or simply to enjoy the performance.
