Marking Racial Justice Sunday 2026
Each year, our diocese marks Racial Justice Sunday. This is an important day to recognise our common humanity and the love and compassion that we share between us as diverse children of God.
Read the storyAfter over eight years of dedicated service as a Generous Living Advisor for the Diocese of Lincoln, Hugo Cobham will be leaving his post as he prepares for a new role in one of our neighbouring dioceses.
Hugo, with the support of fellow Generous Living Advisor team colleague Andy Wright, has been instrumental in seeing the rollout of the Covenant Pledge model of giving in the diocese. It replaced the Parish Share System. This has improved financial sustainability across the diocese through mutual responsibility, confident collaboration and prayerful generosity.
Hugo said:
“I can absolutely see a more cohesive and purposeful direction when it comes to generous giving in the diocese. It has been an honour to support parishes in their quest to realise a joyful charitable vision for their church, community and various worshipping groups.”

Other projects that Hugo has been involved with during his tenure include the launch of the Parish Giving Scheme and the innovative digital giving technology rollout. Hugo has patiently guided church ministers and volunteers on their journey to put into practice more modern methods of acquiring financial support.
Hugo added:
“I pray that my colleagues in parishes, and particularly PCC members, are aware of just how significant their support has been to see generous giving thrive in their patches. I am assured that the diocese will continue to become more fruitful and generous – especially when we see God’s work in action like today.”
Hugo has accepted a position in the Diocese of York, where he will be looking after their Glebe Estate. He will be departing the Diocese of Lincoln on Friday 12 September 2025.
Andy Wright, Generous Living Advisor, will continue to be available to support parishes with their Generous Giving and Living queries. He can be contacted by email here.
We invite you to join us in giving thanks for Hugo’s presence and contributions in our diocese, and to pray for God’s blessing on his future service of growing God’s kingdom in the Diocese of York and beyond.
